Vincenzo "Chacho" Marchelli
"…I saw my father cry while
I sang to him my soul.
I saw my mother smile down
in Argentina, while she warmed
me with the little wood that was left.
I saw women on the seashore
holding hands, singing an old song.
Mothers, Brides, Sisters,
Girlfriends that greeted their
immigrant men in far away
lands singing in chorus to keep
from crying. I will sing forever
thinking of the eyes and smile
of my father…"

Born in Valmadonna (AL) in April of 1946 to an Argentinian mother of Piemontese
origins and a Piemontese father.
His ancestors, always holders of Common Songs, sang to rid themselves of the
fatigue of living a peasant life in a time of war.
He spent his childhood and adolescence in Jesus Maria, province of Cordoba in
Argentina. He returned to Europe in 1956 bringing back to Piedmont ancient,
forgotten songs that were known in South America within the large Piemontese
community.
A compelling voice of the "Tre Martelli" who participated in the Tournee of the
p from 1989 until the beginning of the Third Millenium.
He collaborates on musical projects and European theatrical performances by
virtue of his singing experience. "Musica Alpina", "La Grande Orchestra delle
Alpi", "La Cantata Des Alps", "Del Piemont als Pirineus" and numberous
collaborations with musicians of Oltralpe take him to some of the best stages in
Europe. In love with Common Songs, a great dancer of traditionals dances, he is
the supreme voice of Piemontese Song.
