Rinaldo "Genio" Doro
"… I was born in 1959,
between the city and the country,
in the green of the vineyards
and the avenues of villages…"
Music was not very present in my family but it invaded my life in a pushy and
sudden way, the wind of progressive rock in the 70's dragged me and took me to
play the black and white keys and knobs of the synthesizer.
The love for my land arrived in 1978 when the meeting of Amerigo Vigliermo and
the Coro Bajolese made me discover that the blues and the sound of the people
could also be here, in Canavese.
Since then (with melodeon, hurdy gurdy and recorder), I have travelled
kilometers in the search of songs, stories and the lives of men and women who
talked to me about the past, so I could learn important things for the life of
today.
The frontiers and the oceans that have been crossed to tell with our music in
concerts, on the stages, the festivals, the discs, the nights spent driving on
unknown streets, foreign languages and known language...
My past is one of miscellaneous emotions and images that at times turns into a
dream and illusion. I will never stop searching and learning, I still like to
hear the whisper of the wind in the country that pushes me forward to discover
faraway worlds and times, to understand the observe with respect….
